"I believe your home should feel like a deep exhale — collected, personal, and a little bit magic"

My Story

Hi, I'm Jackie Waidmann

I'm the designer behind Color Me Home, based in Kensington, Maryland, and serving clients throughout the greater Washington, D.C. area.

I've always been surrounded by great design. My grandmother was the lead designer at the bath, kitchen, and tile showroom she and my grandfather built in Delaware, and her creativity left a lasting impression on me. After spending more than fifteen years planning corporate events, I realized the skills I loved most—organization, problem-solving, and bringing countless details together— were the perfect foundation for interior design. There's something incredibly rewarding about creating a home that brings joy, comfort, and function to the people who use it every single day.

My specialty is transforming the room that just doesn't feel quite right. You know the one—the furniture doesn't fit the space, the layout feels awkward, or everything looks fine on its own but never comes together.

I believe every home should feel warm, personal, and collected. My designs blend heirloom pieces with new finds to create spaces that reflect your personality and support the way you and your family actually live. My goal isn't to create a showroom—it's to create a home that's beautiful for guests, comfortable for everyday life, and uniquely yours.

When I'm not perfecting a furniture layout or obsessing over paint colors, you'll usually find me exploring estate sales and flea markets in search of one-of-a-kind treasures, or spending time with my husband and our two kids—making memories in the kind of home I love helping my clients create.
